Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) for Undergraduate-Focused Institutions (R15 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

This grant supports small-scale research projects that provide biomedical research experiences primarily for undergraduate students and strengthen the research environment at the applicant institution. It is intended for undergraduate-focused institutions that award baccalaureate science degrees and have received no more than $6 million per year of NIH support in most recent years.
