This grant supports projects that improve the quality, completeness, and accessibility of criminal-history record information and the nationwide implementation of background-check systems. It also funds work helping states, state court systems and tribal governments update the FBI’s NICS with mental-health, protection order, domestic-violence and other disqualifying records.
