Cooperative Agreement for affiliated Partner with Hawai-Pacific Islands (HPI) Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in identifying how wind influences the incursion of mosquitoes into Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge (hereafter, Hakalau). Hakalau provides habitat for the most intact community of native Hawaiian birds remaining in Hawaiʻi, at least partly due to the lack of disease-carrying Culex mosquitoes in the higher elevation portions of the refuge.
