Decentralized Artificial Intelligence through Controlled Emergence (DICE)

This grant seeks theory and algorithms for decentralized coordination and local inference control of heterogeneous AI agents that can autonomously carry out long-time-horizon missions in contested environments while staying under human control. It funds work that creates scalable, adaptive, and resilient self-organizing AI collectives whose behavior remains predictable and aligned with intended outcomes.
