Enhancing Mechanistic Research on Precision Probiotic Therapies (R33 Clinical Trial Optional)

This grant supports highly innovative mechanistic research to accelerate precision probiotic interventions by characterizing person-specific features that affect probiotic responses. It funds studies that use rigorous animal models or human subjects to test causal links between host biological patterns—such as microbiome, immune system, diet, genetics, and lifestyle—and probiotic effectiveness.
