Mechanics of Materials and Structures (MOMS)

This grant supports fundamental research in mechanics of deformable solid materials and structures, emphasizing transformative experimental, theoretical, and computational advances. It funds work on material response such as deformation, fracture, fatigue, contact, and friction, as well as structural response including nonlinear deformation, instability, collapse, wave propagation, meta-materials, and advanced computing or data-driven techniques.
